Waterloo Press proudly announces the launch of Miming Silence by Bernadette Cremin with special guest Bridget Whelan.
"In Miming Silence Cremin rekindles memories of teenage parties and erotic longing, coupled with the harsh realities that follow. The language used is refreshingly direct and uncluttered. This is poetry that stares you in the eye. Brilliant."
- Les Robinson
"Bridget Whelan writes in the great Irish tradition of storytelling. A Good Confession is an unputdownable, compelling love story about the conflict between passion and duty."
- Miriam Stoppard
Bernadette Cremin has never owned a pet or pair of six-inch heels, but while she has dipped her toe in many pies, it's more than fair to say that poetry has been kind to her since she moved to Brighton for a year in 1996, where she continues to stay for her sins! Miming Silence is her third poetry collection, and second from Waterloo Press, following the success of Speechless (2007), a poem from which, Nadia, was Highly Commended in the 2009 Forward Poetry Prize.
Bridget Whelan is a prize-winning short story writer, the author of the acclaimed novel A Good Confession (Severn House, 2009), and the editor of Salt and Vinegar, an anthology of writing from the Brighton Unemployed Centre Families Project (Waterloo Press, 2008).
Music and song from Rachel Weston.
