Performance Workshop - Secrets & Lies
Secrets & Lies

Storytelling and Storymaking Workshop

Can you keep a secret?  Do you have any secrets? Have you ever told a lie? Well we all have at some point in our lives. These secrets and lies make for good storytelling.

The introductory Storytelling and Storymaking workshop will be looking at fun ways to re tell a story and methods for performing a story.  We will spend time looking at the rhythm of storytelling, working with elements of physical theatre, movement, dance and even some singing! Many skills from storytelling can be used to enhance public speaking and teaching or facilitating.

"Tell your friend a lie. If he keeps it secret, then tell him the truth"

"If you reveal your secrets to the wind you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees"
  Kahil Gibran

"We dance round in a ring and suppose, while the secret sits in the middle and knows"  Robert Frost

Amanda has been a performer for over 25 years spanning the arts, dance, physical theatre, storytelling and storymaking. Her workshops are engaging and stimulating, she uses inspiring techniques that encourage all to stand and tell. 'Secrets and Lies' is for a mixed gender and ability workshop.
